Review of IAPT (Changing Minds)

I have enjoyed my CBT sessions with [name removed] and felt I have grown as a result.
I feel I have now the tools to become my own therapist and I will use all my learning to help me maintain what I have learnt from the CBT sessions and to manage my anxiety and depression.
I found the sessions with [name removed] were motivating and increased my hope in dealing with my depression and anxiety.

I felt like my thoughts and feelings were validated and listened to by staff, and I always felt like I could voice my opinion or how I was finding things if I needed to. They were friendly, understanding and very easy to talk to.
Suggested improvements
I don't have any specific improvements I would make to my experience, I found it very thorough and what I expected.

The gentleman was very friendly, respectful and understanding. I have been under the mental health team for around 18 months. The support has helped me to understand myself and my needs and understand myself more. It’s also helped me how to put things behind me and move forward. Thank you

I can’t think of anything that could have been done better. Very happy with the support I received.

I was in a massive dark place and never thought i wouls get out i came forward to getting help [name removed] helped me in a way i never thought wouls happen i actually felt a little emotional after today as i know i wont be soeaking to her again over the last feww months i fwel like ive had a friend and someone who i trust and now my sessions are ended i dont have her anymore so want to say a massive thank you to [name removed] you been amazing will miss you and thank you so so much [name removed] aka [name removed]

This was not an issue for me.
Suggested improvements
I would have liked there to have had more time for each module - felt not enough time to go over it fully. I would have liked some individual time to ask questions on things i didnt quite understand or how to apply to my individual situations.
This is not against the course or the people that run the course but the northampton mental health service in general because I found it difficult to access other support for me as an individual due to being on this course.

We aim to deliver programme content and offer adequate time for group delivery; however, we recognise that we have an ongoing task to ensure consistency when managing group dynamics and discussions that arise in any group session. We have now created resources in easy-to-read format to compliment recap of content and skills covered.

We will continue to regularly review the group sizes and balance this with resources to ensure that session delivery is effective and that the environment is conducive in promoting a therapeutic environment. We will continue to review how we can best accommodate individual preferences.

I found Hazel and excellent therapist I was concerned initially about doing CBT. However, it has been the best choice of my life and I'm glad I worked all the way through it.

The waiting lists are too long.
